Threading
Threading At k:SPA Skin Clinic & Beauty Salon In The Solent Centre, Whiteley
Threading is a centuries-old technique that allows us to efficiently remove unwanted facial hair for men and women.
It is a fast and effective way to remove unwanted hair from the brows, upper lip, chin, sides of the face, and full face. It is not recommended for removing body hair as this tends to be more coarse. For body hair removal, please try our waxing service instead.
We also offer electrolysis for permanent hair removal. Electrolysis hair removal is ideal for removing unwanted hair on the face.

Eyebrow Threading
from £13.00
Threading is an effective way to precisely remove unwanted hair from around the eyebrows to give you a completely smooth area and perfectly shaped brows.
We will use a thin piece of cotton that is doubled and twisted before being rolled over the hairs to pluck them out. While it can be a little eye-watering, our threading experts at k:SPA will work quickly and efficiently to keep pain levels to a minimum.
The good news with threading is that we can quickly remove several hairs at once and create a beautiful shape for your brows.
Facial Threading
from £12.00
While eyebrow threading is our most popular hair removal treatment, we can also remove unwanted hair from the whole face or specific areas such as the upper lip, chin, or sides of the face.
Prices start from just £12.00 which makes this a fast and cost-effective service to remove pesky hairs from the face!
Threading plucks the hair from the follicle which means it will weaken the hair follicle over time if you have a regular threading service. Hair growth usually becomes less dense and new hairs eventually grow back finer.
Looking For Permanent Hair Removal? Try Electrolysis!
Electrolysis is a safe, effective, progressive and permanent method of removing unwanted hair. It remains the only method legally allowed to claim it offers truly permanent hair removal for all skin types and colours and all hair types and colours.
A fine probe (about the size of an eyelash) is inserted into the hair follicle where a tiny burst of energy is targeted at the root of the hair. This prevents nutrients from feeding the hair and the hair becomes weaker and finer. After repeated treatments the hair is no longer able to grow and complete hair-free results are obtained.
An initial consultation is required before any treatment is carried out. A test treatment may also be required to assess suitability.
We also offer Advanced Electrolysis for skin tag removal. FIND OUR MORE

Why choose waxing over other ways of hair removal?
«Waxing is quick, easy and lasts longer than shaving or removal creams (up to 4 weeks). The hair is removed from the root, not cut at the skin surface as with shaving, so comes back smooth not stubbly. Many also find that once you have been waxing for a while, the hair comes back finer and even patchy in some areas.
What do I do if I've never been waxed before?
«Before you have your first wax at k:SPA, we will ask you to fill out a consultation card and your beauty therapist will then have a quick chat with you in the privacy of the treatment room. We’ll go through some basic questions such as how would you usually remove your hair, etc. This is for your first visit only, all we ask is that you keep us updated of any changes - for example, if you are taking any new medication. We’ll also be happy to answer any questions you may have before we start. Your beauty therapist will then explain the details of the treatment you have chosen and let you know what to do next and to what extent you should undress. They will leave you to make yourself comfortable on the couch before returning to begin your k:SPA waxing.
Does waxing hurt?
«We’re not going to lie to you! Waxing involves pulling hair out from its root, so yes, depending on the client and area being waxed there is a possibility it may hurt a little. However, waxing techniques have improved considerably over the years. Here at k:SPA, all our therapists are trained in the very latest techniques and we use only the finest-quality waxes that stick to the hair not the skin. It’s also a well-known fact that any pain you do experience will lessen the more regularly you wax!
How often should I wax?
«The quality of the wax we use means that we can reach the shorter, finer hairs better than most other waxes. This means you no longer have to wait and ‘grow’ your hair so it is long enough to be waxed again. Most people find they need to come in every 3–5 weeks. If you are new to waxing we recommend every 3–4 weeks for the first few times until the hair growth starts to slow and grow at the same rate. Sometimes the waxed area can appear to have more hair than usual, this just means that all the hairs are now in a similar growth cycle and will make your future waxes more effective and last longer. For best results we recommend that you don’t shave, tweeze or use hair removal creams between appointments.
How long does a waxing appointment take?
«It depends on what areas we are waxing and how much hair is there, as a guide allow 20 minutes for a half leg wax and 30 minutes for a Brazilian or Hollywood.
What wax is used during the appointment?
«It really depends on the area we are waxing; we use a combination of only the highest grade strip and new generation non-strip wax whichever is the best wax for the job! For legs and larger areas, we use a hypoallergenic strip wax where the wax is applied and then removed with a paper strip. For more intimate areas such as Brazilians, Hollywoods, facial and under arms we use the latest ground-breaking new generation non-strip wax. These advanced formulations with their low temperature and “shrink wrapping” abilities mean increased client comfort. Perfect for the more ‘sensitive’ areas!
Will my skin be sore after a wax?
«Your skin shouldn’t be sore after a wax, but it is quite normal for a mild redness or red dots to be seen on the area for a few hours. With some areas, white bumps can also been seen on the skin but usually disappear within 24 hours. Follow your beauty therapist's aftercare advice and you should soon be back to normal.
Do I need to do anything to prepare for my wax appointment?
«Gently exfoliate the area in the few days prior to your appointment, this helps to remove dry skin and lift the hairs achieving better results.
Do I need to do anything after my wax appointment?
«You will need to avoid any heat or friction in the area for 24 hours. This includes steam rooms, saunas, hot tubs & sunbeds.
How can I avoid in-grown hairs?
«Exfoliate the skin thoroughly to remove dead skin cells. Moisturise the skin every day. When the skin is supple, new growth can break through more easily therefore reducing the risk of in growing hairs and infection.
Can I have a wax if I am pregnant?
«Absolutely! Bikini waxes are very popular with our pregnant ladies. Bear in mind that your skin may be a little more sensitive than usual, however our beauty therapists will ensure it’s as bearable as they can!
Can I still have a wax on my period?
«Yes, that's not a problem at all. All we ask is that you’re wearing a tampon.
Is there ever a time that I can't have a wax?
«Certain skin conditions, face creams and medication can affect your skin which is when we recommend not waxing. It is extremely important for you to tell your beauty therapist of any skin conditions you may have or medication you are taking.
For example, if you have been taking the drug Accutane (for acne/skin problems) then you will need to wait a minimum of 6 months after you finish before we can perform any waxing at all. Another example is if you are using Retin-A. We cannot wax the area that you are using it however, if you apply Retin-A to your face you can still wax legs and bikini but not eyebrows. Our beauty therapists can advise, however if you have any serious conditions you should consult your doctor.
What is a Brazilian Wax & what is a Hollywood Wax?
«As with every new treatment for our clients, you will have a quick consultation with your therapist in the treatment room, during which she will explain about the treatment you have chosen. Our therapists are very professional and will make you feel as comfortable as possible. They will then leave you to get ready which will involve taking your knickers off! (For standard bikini waxes there is no need to remove them). A k:SPA Intimate wax will create a great result by removing all hair from the labia, perineum and anus areas. A ‘Hollywood’ bares all where as a Brazilian leaves a ‘landing strip’ (your choice how wide). Don’t worry, it isn’t as scary as it sounds and we’re sure you’ll love the result.
Do you offer permanent hair removal?
